Hosur is a city which was founded by King Rama Natha. Hosur, also known as Little England, for its climatic conditions, has a history of more than 800 Years. Hosur is known for these days, not only for its climatic condition, but also for the Thousands of industries located here. Hosur is at the height of about 900 meters above the sea level. The average temperature during summer is 25° to 30° C and during winter it is 13° to 25° C. There are many industries in Hosur now. But in earlier days it was surrounded by forests. The industrialization has begun with the help of SIPCOT and soon it got developed and now it became the industrial city. The industries in the city are Bakery, automobiles, wielding and wire mesh industries. Two of the famous Indian automobile companies Ashok Leyland and TVS Motor Company have placed their manufacture units in Hosur city. There are many industries flourishing now and now there are 750 large industries, 85 small industries, 512 tiny industries. Some of the industries are uncategorized ones which are very small and need to develop in future. One of the famous tourist spot in Hosur is the famous hill temple.
